Innogy Holdings has bought 230,000 telephony customers from NTL as part of its strategy to boost numbers for npower Communications. Launched back in May, the Innogy-owned telco has been increasing its customer base through acquisitions. This most recent acquisition brings npower on target to reach its first year target of 150,000 customers. The deal will cost Innogy £10.2m - a price similar to the cost of expanding customer numbers organically. NTL is selling off the customer base that isn't directly connected to its cable network and was acquired as part of Cable & Wireless in May of last year.
