Collaboration and communications solution provider Polycom is reshuffling its executive deck with the addition of Eric Brown.

Brown has been handed three new hefty titles: chief financial officer, chief operating officer, and executive vice president.

Reporting to Polycom president and CEO Andy Miller, Brown will manage all financial, operational, and IT functions at Polycom, which are being consolidated under one leader for greater efficiency and scale as the company looks to accelerate its momentum and grow faster than the overall unified communications market.

Previously CFO and EVP at Electronic Arts, Brown has also served as COO and CFO at McAfee, as well as president and CFO of MicroStrategy.

Brown will be replacing Michael Kourey, who is retiring from his position as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Polycom "to pursue other opportunities, including continuing to serve on corporate boards and various charitable activities." His retirement is effective March 7.

Polycom isn't the only one with a new CFO starting soon. Akamai also announced earlier today that it has hired HP’s former CFO of its Americas Technology Solutions Group, James Benson, as its new chief financial officer. Benson is replacing J. Donald Sherman, effective March 1st.
