That's porn star Stormy Daniels.

So what's an image of her doing on this blog? I'll tell you.

An article on the ABC News website broaches this rather imagistic subject: are high-def cameras just a bit too, well, high-def for porn videos?

After reading this article, I started to think the question could be broadened to encompass high-speed broadband streams and downloads of or from some of these same videos.

No- I am serious. Follow along with me here.

Porn videos, I am "told," often feature the most intimate close-ups you can imagine. Porn stars often must endure various types of cosmetic, dermatological and (dare we go there) gynocological remedies to excise or even hide blemishes that for you and me, might be considered routine.

The problem with high def and high speed is that you can feed so many bits through the connection that the actor or actress who is not fully aware of what corrective action needs to be done can be  revealed in an unflattering way.

If you think I am making this up, consider the concerns of porn movie director Brad Armstrong- who is quoted in Bashir's piece:

"Great for football, great for National Geographic. But whenever you are showing the human body, there's flaws in those — especially when you are naked, and especially when you are in the height of passion, some things just aren't as pretty as they should be."

And then you have the perspective of the aforementioned porn actor-director Stormy Daniels, who is also quoted:

"Girls with stretch marks are the most self-conscious. Girls in the industry that may have had a child, or lost a bunch of weight, or gained a bunch of weight. They are definitely the most self-conscious. I have girls who come in the set now, wanting to keep corsets on."

Not that I would ever pay to watch this stuff, but IMHO "corsets on" doesn't make for appealing porn.

One other factor: Brad and Stormy are on top (oh shaddup) of this industry. What about broadband videos of porn stars who just want to get their videos out there without excercising the proper "corrective action."
