in brief Queensland Cotton has recently installed a new Nortel-based data network, as the cotton specialist upgrades from a Cisco solution that had reached end of life status.

The network was installed in Queensland Cotton's Brisbane office, according to a statement issued today by Nortel, and prepared the company for the adoption of video and voice over Internet Protocol (IP) technologies.

Brisbane IT services group Priority One Solutions designed the new network.

Queensland Cotton is using Nortel's Ethernet Routing Switch 5520 with power over Ethernet technology.
