They still have fixed line phones?

Siemens Business Services has won a five-year contract to look after around 3,000 PCs and laptops as well as application servers at O2 in Germany.

The order, which the German company said is worth “millions of euros”, covers the network operator’s Munich HQ and 100 shops.

The deal outsources most desktop IT maintenance – from installing and debugging hardware and software to supporting and ultimately disposing of LANs and PCs – plus 4,500 phone terminals that rely on Siemens switches.

There are O2 operations in Germany, Ireland and UK, all subsidiaries of mmO2, which at the start of this week announced its first set of profits.
