With more than 100 smart grid projects underway, SmartSynch has formed an alliance program focused on building support for its GridRouter technology. The idea behind GridRouter is to support and enable interoperability between the various communication networks cropping up to connect smart grid projects.

Companies joining the GridRouter EcoSystem will receive access to hardware and software development kits that enable them to develop technologies complementary to the GridRouter infrastructure. Their own technologies will likewise be accounted for within the community.

So far, there 10 companies supporting the GridRouter EcoSystem (at least publicly). They are AT&T, Motorola, Cooper Power Systems, Battelle Energy, T-Mobile, Rogers Communications, Itron, Daviscomms, Futaba (Japan) and AuthenTec (SafeNet).
