T-Mobile has announced that it will phase out its MyFaves option, which allows unlimited calling to five select people.

The option, which appealed to large families, overlaps somewhat with the company's new two-year-contract "Even More" and non-contract "Even More Plus" plans, some of which account for unlimited calling to anyone. (The "Even More Plus" plan, which excludes a phone subsidy, also allows a customer to pay for a phone in installments.)

The change only affects new customers, so current subscribers actively using MyFaves will still be able to access the service.

The change in policy could increase or decrease a family's phone bill, depending on that family's original plan structure.

Also, customers with 'MyFaves' on their phone can simply use the portal for quick access to their favorite contacts.

T-Mobile first introduced MyFaves in 2006.
