Tatung attempts to return to spotlight with PC/TV

The TMP-5100 will ship from January based on a full range of processor speeds from 75MHz to 200MHz Pentiums, with prices starting at around £1,500 + VAT. The MPEG-2 upgradable unit features a remote control, eight-speed CD-ROM drive, 15-inch monitor, 28,800bps modem and stereo speakers.

"Tatung's a sleeping giant," said Chris Anson, IT products sales manager at Tatung. "It's been supplying an OEM manufacturing service for a long time, but now we want to raise our profile."
