UK Post Office orders 19,500 touch-screen kiosks
As part of its initiative to enter the network age, the UK Post Office has ordered 19,500 ICL kiosks using smart cards to replace gyro and order book payments.
Touch-screen expert MicroTouch has won the £13 million contract with ICL Pathway to provide touch-screens for the kiosks. The first pilot is underway in Gloucestershire and the Post Office said it expects full installation to be complete within two or three years.
