Unwired has increased its network coverage in Melbourne from the central business district to now cover over one million residents across the city, the wireless carrier announced.
Unwired has switched on four of five new transmission towers, which will see its wireless service available from Essendon in the city's west, to Burwood in the east. The network will also extend from Greensborough in the north to Braeside in the south.
The remaining transmission tower would be switched on soon, according to Unwired, which would become the carrier's 15th operational tower in Melbourne.
The network expansion meant Unwired provided coverage to 35 percent of Melbourne homes, according to a statement.
Melbourne is just the second city to be serviced by the wireless carrier after Sydney.
