WiMax network base station unveiled
Proxim Wireless Corporation and Palette Multimedia have launched a WiMax Forum-certified base station unit--the Tsunami MP.16 3500--in Kuala Lumpur.

Proxim Wireless Corporation and Palette Multimedia have launched a WiMax Forum-certified base station unit--the Tsunami MP.16 3500--in Kuala Lumpur.
The product is targeted at broadband wireless access providers that have a license to operate services in the 3.5GHz spectrum in this country.
The MP.16 is certified to be interoperable with at least three chipset vendors: Intel, Sequans and Waveset.
An MP.16 base station has a 15km line-of-sight range, and supports up to 5km non-line of sight range.
