Hands-on with BlackBerry App World 3.0

  • RIM released their latest App World 3.0 software store for BlackBerry smartphones. As you can see in these screenshots, the UI has gotten a major refresh with additional functions. You can also see there are a number of applications in App World and BlackBerry devices really don't lack many key apps.

  • BBM 6 provides APIs for developers to integrate BBM functionality into their apps and in App World 3.0 there is a category where you can quickly view the apps that are BBM connected.

  • The apps you have installed are viewable in the My World section of App World 3.0.

  • There are filter options in the My World section that include Installed, Uninstalled, Upgrades, and Subscriptions. If you have apps with updates available a red asterik will appear at the top of My World and under the application.
