Image Gallery: Cronk for the Apple iPhone
There are lots of games available for the Apple iPhone and the prices are more competitive than what you will find for the DS and PSP mobile gaming devices. One of the recent games launched and then updated for the iPhone is Cronk. Cronk is a caveman trying to save his village by throwing and matching up three boulders in a row. I have played a comparable game on my T-Mobile G1 (Bonsai Blast) and Windows Mobile devices (Astraware Zuma) and think Cronk is an enjoyable game.
The directions for Cronk are pretty simple and appear on a single page in the game.
You can play in Classic or Timed modes. I find the Classic mode to be a bit slow for my tastes, but enjoy the faster pace of the Timed mode.
When you select Timed mode you can select what level you want to play from the graphical selection screen.
In Timed mode you select the length of time that you want to play for.
When you play Timed mode then you can select one of three levels to play. I would like to see a level selector for Classic mode too.
Cronk stands in a stationary location and then throws the colored bolders where you tap on the display. You need to get three of the same in a row to knock the boulders out.
As you can see I am just about to lose the game with too many boulders moving towards my village.
There are options for music and special effects volumes. If you tap Cronk you can also choose to abandon the game.
The Classic game shows you what score you need to achieve.
I purchased the game because I know Joel Evans and wanted to give his game a try on my original iPhone.
