Image Gallery: Screenshots of the Kobo Reader application on Google Android devices

Kobo has finally rolled out their Google Android version software and it works quite well on the beautiful HTC EVO 4G display. Avid ebook readers will be pleased with the look and feel, but there are still some areas for improvement too.
You can view your loaded books in list or bookshelf views and tap on them to open them up.
There are a couple of ways to browse the Kobo bookstore.
Once you dive in deep enough you will see the book covers for the titles that are available to purchase.
After you find a title you are interested in then you can view the information about that book, including the cost and a description.
You can browse through the table of contents to see if the book interests you.
In addition to the Discover opton, you can browse by every category in the Kobo bookstore too.
I like the way that the Kobo application presents your book content using the entire display of your device and on something like the EVO 4G this is pretty killer. You simply tap the left or right side of the display to turn pages forward or backward.
After you tap on the center of the display you will see these pop-up controls appear. They will stay for a few seconds before disappeaiing if you take no action.
There are four available menu options that are accessed by tapping the Menu button on your Android device.
If you desire you can jump to the TOC and then go to specific chapters of the ebook.
The slider bar at the bottom also lets you quickly scroll through pages in the book.
As you can see the smallest font presents you with lots of content and is actually quite readable on a large display device.
There are five font sizes to choose from in Kobo.
This screenshot shows you the largest font size available in Kobo.
You have three font types to choose from in Kobo.
I tried all three font types, but find Serif to be the most pleasing to me for reading ebooks.
There is a quick toggle to switch between day and night modes. Night mode is shown here and places white text on a black background.
Kobo has earned a primary spot on my EVO 4G Home screen.
