Inverse Path USB armory: Secure computer on a stick
The USB armory by Inverse Path houses a full-blown Linux computer; 800MHz ARM processor and 512MB RAM.
The USB armory hardware is supported by standard software environments; it runs vanilla Linux kernels and standard distributions.
The armory is astonishingly light and thin, and features open source hardware and software through and through; its hardware design features the Freescale i.MX53 processor, supporting advanced security features such as secure boot and ARM TrustZone.
Soon the USB armory will ship with enclosures for protection, which have been stress tested for cat compliance, and August sees the official release of its INTERLOCK software, which makes file encryption easy.
Enclosures are slated to begin shipping this month, and will cost $15.
The host adapter leverages the fact that it is possible, by changing the Linux kernel device tree configuration, to invert the role of the USB On-The-Go port currently used as main plug for the board. This allows USB Armory to be used independently as a host.
