Last week saw the much-anticipated UK launch of Apple's iPad tablet.
To mark its arrival, silicon.com has rounded-up some of the UK-focused apps made for the tablet.
The Guardian Eyewitness
Already downloaded more than 90,000 times, this free app delivers daily updates from The Guardian's Eyewitness photography series.
Users can browse photos of current world events, and download up to 100 of the most recent photographs each time they log on.
Each photo also comes with advice from the Guardian's photographic team for budding photographers.

David Mitchell's Soapbox
TV comedian David Mitchell has jumped on the appwagon, releasing an app full of videos of his comedy act for fans to watch on the iPad.
Updated with new content each week, it also periodically features additional bonus material for users to download.

Financial Times
The Financial Times' app allows users to view news and markets information on their iPad throughout the day, whether they're online at the time or not.

FryPaper
Fans of Stephen Fry's technology blog can now download it to their iPads with the FryPaper app.

London Traffic HD
This app opens up London's traffic camera network to iPad users.
Camera locations are shown on a map of the city - the app will automatically locate the nearest jam-cam to the iPad's current location - and users can see still images of traffic levels by tapping their finger on a particular location.

London Tube for iPad
As well as providing maps of the London Underground, this app comes with station locations and estimated journey times, and users can also purchase add-ons featuring bus routes, attractions or accommodation within the capital.

UK Highways HD
Another app to help you get home quicker, UK Highways HD comes with maps of the UK's roads along with traffic updates, average speed information and accident warnings.

London Visitors A-Z for iPad
Aimed at visitors to the big smoke, this app uses the iPad's GPS tracker to help tourists locate galleries, shops, tourist attractions and transport links shown in map format. The information can be accessed without an internet connection too.

Shakespeare
For fans of the Bard's work, this app brings Shakespeare's plays and poetry to the iPad.
It comes with Shakespeare facts and portraits of the playwright and users can also get random Shakespeare quotes by shaking the device.
