NextDC datacentre customers can download this app to access information about or control their racks or suites in the datacentre. They can view the spaces they have in each facility and see single rack profiles with power usage, temperature and a summary of recent events, as well as remotely lock and unlock front and back rack doors.

If you constantly battle with large and complex documents, you might want to give this word processor a go. It was created with research papers, theses, technical documents and books in mind, and you can select styles for headings, which makes document formatting easier. It also does automatic figures and tables for the number of headings. Perhaps the nicest feature is that it highlights all changes made by autocorrect.

Twitter for iOS and Android has had a massive update in a move to increase functionality while addressing user complaints. Updates include: expanded Tweets, which show content previews and images; push notifications; improvements to autocomplete; tappable avatars that will take you directly to user profiles; and, for iOS users, a Discover feature that indicates when there are new stories for you to view.

Apple has now enabled the EasyPay feature for Australians, so that you can buy an accessory in an Apple store by scanning the barcode and paying for it through your iTunes account, meaning that no waiting in line is required.
