Best Buy Cyber Monday 2015 deals on laptops, tablets, desktops

The electronics retailer doesn't have any eyebrow-raising specials like on Black Friday, but has plenty of discounts if you're in the market for a new PC.

Black Friday is over, but stores' deal-making isn't, as the shopping weekend rolls right into Cyber Monday. One thing that's still the same is that Best Buy is the major player when it comes to specials on computers. While its Cyber Monday ad doesn't promise door-buster bargains as on Black Friday, it does offer a number of discounts on laptops, desktops, and, to a lesser extent, tablets.

Deals on Apple iPads, for instance, are limited to a maximum of $50 off on the original iPad Air. There's also a Surface Pro 3 with Intel Core i3 processor and 128GB of storage for $699.99, which makes the sale price Microsoft is offering online. For much, much less, Best Buy has a 7-inch DigiLand Android tablet for $39.99, or its own Insignia brand 10-inch Android slate for $129.99.

There are many more specials on trendy 2-in-1 laptops that cost more, but provide more functionality than pure tablets and more flexibility than traditional notebooks. The cheapest is a HP Pavilion x2 10 for $229.99 ($70 less than on HP's own site) running Windows 10 via an Intel Atom Z3736F processor and including 32GB of built-in storage; you can score a version with double the storage for $50 more. There's also an 11.6-inch Toshiba Satellite Radius with Intel Pentium CPU, 4GB of RAM, and a 500GB hard drive for $399.99.

Power users haven't been ignored, with a trio of more robust convertible laptops on sale with $50 discounts (and apparently configuration exclusives to BestBuy). For $649.99, you have a choice of either a Dell with 13.3-inch full HD display, Core i5 CPU, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB SSD, or an Acer with 14-inch full HD screen, Core i5 processor, 8 gigs of RAM, and twice the SSD capacity. Finally, you can grab a Dell 2-in-1 with a 15.6-inch 4K screen, Core i7 chip, 8GB of RAM, and terabyte hard drive for $929.99.

There are even more 2-in-1 specials being advertised in the form of four different Lenovos: the Yoga 700 (Core M processor, 4GB of RAM, 128GB SSD, 11.6-inch full HD display) for $549.99; a 15.6-inch Edge (Core i5, 8GB of RAM, terabyte hard drive, full HD screen) for $679.99; a 14-inch ThinkPad (Core i5, 8GB of RAM, 256GB SSD, discrete graphics card, full HD screen) for $899.99; and the Yoga 900 (Core i7, 8GB of RAM, 256GB SSD, 13.3-inch "quad HD" display) for $1,199.99. (Note, however, that the Yoga 900 is advertised as having any discount at all.)

Best Buy is also promoting several deals on traditional laptops, starting with a 15.6-inch Lenovo with AMD A8 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 1TB hard drive for $299.99. You can step up to a similarly sized Toshiba with less RAM (6GB) but a Core i3 CPU for $369.99, or take a bigger step up to a 17.3-inch HP with Core i7 processor, 6GB of memory, and terabyte hard drive for $499.99. If you're looking for a touchscreen, a 13.3-inch Asus laptop with Core i3, 6GB of RAM, and 500GB hard drive, though it's only $20 less than the normal price. The retailer also promises $100 off select Apple MacBooks, though its ad does not detail which configurations those are.

The same vague discounting applies to Apple iMacs, with some versions getting $100 price trims, but those specific models aren't listed. If you're looking for a Windows all-in-one (AIO) PC instead, specials include an HP with Core i3, 8GB of memory, 1TB hard drive, and 23-inch touchscreen for $649.99 and a Lenovo with Core i5, 8 gigs of RAM, 1TB hard drive, and 23.8-inch touchscreen for $999.99. There's even what's being called a "portable" all-in-one in the form of an Asus AIO with 19.5-inch touchscreen, 8GB of RAM, and terabyte hard drive for $849.99.

A trio of desktop towers round out the Best Buy Cyber Monday PC specials. These start with an HP featuring an AMD A8 processor, 8GB of RAM, and terabyte hard drive for $379.99, while a Lenovo desktop with Core i5 CPU, 8GB of RAM, and a 1TB hard drive plus 8GB SSD for faster booting is $619.99. If you need a monitor to go along with your tower, Best Buy has a Dell system with Core i5, 12GB of memory, and 2TB hard drive and a 23-inch display for $749.98 (or $160 less if you just want the desktop sans monitor).
