KUALA LUMPUR, 4 May 2000 (Maxis Net)- Technology has advanced so rapidly that the world we live in now moves at Internet speed. The Internet has become the e-business point between integration of all IT resources, resulting in the convergence of the industries.

To meet the new demands of its customers in line with these changes, Compaq Computer Corporation, one of the largest IT companies in the world, has revealed its new strategy involving its NonStop eBusiness solutions.

The company aims to create a non-stop e-business environment that leverages on scalable and highly reliable technology, to redefine non-stop Internet access by simplifying PC usage to customers and to provide unique value through leading partnerships.

"The Compaq NonStop eBusiness strategy is a balance of Compaq's industry leading platforms, Compaq's worldwide services offerings and enterprise applications from Compaq's global alliance partnership programme," said TF Chong, Managing Director, Compaq Computer Distribution Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

"The effective packaging of these will enable our customers to integrate core business processes into the new Internet paradigm."

International Data Corporation (IDC) predicts that there will be a total of 3.91 million Internet users generating up to USD$3 billion in e-commerce revenue by 2004.
