The step down follows a 20-month reign in which CompuServe market share stagnated and a niche new service aimed at young users - WOW! - began and finished in short order. Massey will be replaced by Frank Salizzoni, chairman of CompuServe and president and CEO of H&R Block, the majority owner of CompuServe.
