The PowerEdge 4100 (£3,900 + VAT) follows the PowerEdge 2100 which was launched in September. It offers single and dual-processing using 180MHz and 200MHz Pentium Pro chips and comes as a rack mountable or floor standing tower chassis. The server also boasts 10 front-access expansion bays, five external 5.25-inch peripheral bays and six external 3.5-inch bays.

The unit is available now and will be followed by the PowerEdge 6100, a quad-processor model, in the first quarter of 1997.

Dell can be contacted by telephone on 01344-720000.
