The 600 x 600dpi EPL-N1200 printer (£1,130 + VAT) is based on a 20MHz Risc chip and has 2Mb RAM. It uses Epson's Mitech technology to give a similar performance to printers with 4Mb RAM, according to the firm, and Epson's Bi-Ritech technology to give the print quality of a 1200dpi printer.
The unit has a 250-sheet paper tray and two additional stacking trays which can hold 500 A4 sheets each, giving a total capacity of 1250 A4 sheets. The printer comes in an Ethernet configuration, the EPL-N1200EN (£1,480 + VAT) which is compatible with Novel's NetWare, and a PostScript configuration, the EPL-N1200PS (£1,800 + VAT).
Epson said that further network laser printers in the family are to follow.
