Freak out your friends by teleporting on top of their heads
Everyone has been talking about the new Google Latitude feature of Google Maps, which automatically geotags your location based upon the GPS coordinates of your smartphone device. Google obviously intended this feature so that friends could hook up with others nearby, but I've found a much more interesting use -- playing "Jumper" and teleporting right in front of people, or even on top of their heads.
You see, it turns out you can MANUALLY set your Latitude coordinates instead of having your smartphone set it for you. Just go to the full page web interface, and choose "Set Location". Plug in the same city as one of your friends, and then drag your icon right on top of their heads. Hilarity ensues.
I've been doing this to ZDNet Education blogger Chris Dawson all morning, but the little twerp has been teleporting to Paris to get away from me.
