HP's ZBook Studio workstation starts at $1,699

HP outlined its latest mobile workstations including the ZBook Studio, a 4.4 pound 15.6-inch ultrabook that's aimed at folks who want to do video editing, computer aided drafting and other heavy workloads on a laptop.

The mobile workstations for HP are part of a broader overhaul of the lineup. The ZBook Studio runs on Intel's Xeon processors, has ECC memory, Thunderbolt 3 and 4k displays as well as 2 TB of storage.

HP's ZBook Studio will be available in December and start at $1,699.

ZBook Studio was part of a broader rollout of mobile workstations. Among the key additions:

  • HP ZBook 15u has a 15.6-inch touch display, 1.5 TB of total storage and has various graphics configurations. This system starts at $1,099 and will be available in January.
  • HP ZBook 15 can run with an Intel Core or Xeon processor, can have up to 3 TB of storage and has better battery life.
  • The ZBook 17 has a 17.3-inch screen and can run on a Intel Core or Xeon processor. Pricing for the ZBook 15 and 17 wasn't disclosed.

Separately, HP introduced a thin client with native 4K support as well as new drives and cooling systems for desktop workstations.
