Samsung and LG revealed the latest S7 and G5 products at MWC and just yesterday Apple showed off the iPhone SE. Next up to bat is HTC with an official announcement that its next phone will be revealed on April 12th via a online-only event.

It's virtually impossible to keep any new phone a secret today and we've seen plenty of leaks of the new HTC 10 smartphone. Last week HTC offered its own teaser with an image showing some camera lenses and the words, "World's First, World Class, Front and Back. You'll see" along with its hashtag #powerof10.

Today's launch announcement image has the same hashtag with a building apparently showing a room with the lights on late at night. This implies the HTC team is working hard to come up with a compelling product, and at this point in HTC's history it desperately needs a compelling product.

The event is an online only event scheduled for Tuesday, April 12th starting at 8 AM Eastern Daylight time.

Rumors indicate the HTC 10 will have the same typical specs of all other high end Android smartphones today; Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, 4GB of RAM, fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C, microSD expansion card, and more. It may have a smaller display than the rest, rumored to be 5.15 inches.

The camera was one concern with the M9 last year and HTC's teaser indicates we will see some sort of dual camera design this year. HTC is the last to launch a first half 2016 flagship so it has its work cut out and better deliver.
