JasperSoft and Hyperic have formed a partnership to give users in the enterprise and in the cloud a view into mission critical application performance metrics and service levels, the companies announced.

JasperSoft is a top provider of open source business intelligence software and Hyperic is a top open source systems monitoring and performance management vendor. As part of the pact, JasperServer Professional Edition ill be embedded in Hyperic's new Operations HQ platform.

Hyperic maintains that the combined solution gives executives analysis on data that was only available to highly technical end users in the past. Hyperic IQ, for example, offers graphical views and detailed reports for users who "analyze IT and web operations service levels, efficiencies, staffing initiatives and operations strategies," the company announced in a statement today. "This business intelligence view into IT and web operations enables key decision-makers to monitor and report on any metric, any resource and any datacenter across their entire infrastructure to ensure ongoing adherence to service levels commitments."

This new systems intelligence solution, for example, offers:

1. A rich array of report elements and formats. IQ reports present rich, easy-to-read charts and graphs, and can be published in multiple formats including PDF, Rich Text Format, Excel, HTML and Flash

2. The ability to analyze information from virtually any Hyperic HQ data, allowing executives to view and share exception reporting via stacked graphs, Service-Level Agreement (SLA) compliance reports and virtualization resource utilization metrics

3. A variety of chart types, including gauges, multi-metric line charts, bar graphs, and stacked charts make it easy to spot big problems, understand trends, and evaluate results against objectives and plans

4. Push and pull access to operations intelligence. Authorized users can run reports on-demand from any browser. Users that are responsible for periodic reporting on key indicators and service level summaries can schedule reports to be run and delivered by email on a scheduled basis

Jaspersoft's business intelligence software is already tightly integrated into Hyperic HQ Enterprise. The two companies have also collaborated in the past to deliver an integrated reporting features in the community edition of Hyperic HQ.
