IT pros offered SAN standard

IT professionals are being offered the chance to become SAN certified in what is claimed to be the first Open Systems SAN Certification Program in the UK.

Training firm Infinity has teamed up with StorageTek to offer a three-day course in SAN and Fibre Channel. The course will cost around $750 and provide a year's certification. Michael McLay, vice president at StorageTek, said the wide variety of products on the market means the course will be strictly vendor neutral. In a statement, he said: "The potential is there to have products from more than 15 vendors at any given customer's site." Courses begin in training centres around the UK in April. According to StorageTek the certification will only be valid for one year because of the rapidly changing nature of the technology.
