Jobs & Adverts (Frankfurter Neuer Market: JOA), a career market on the Internet, has expanded its operations in Asia.

SINGAPORE, 2 June 2000 - Jobs & Adverts has established a new Malaysian office and doubled the staff strength of the Singapore office to 10 in less than one year of operation.

In Malaysia, Jimmy Chua has been appointed as Jobs & Adverts country sales manager, and will head the sales team in Malaysia.

Lim Zhong Yue, Asia Pacific regional director of Jobs & Adverts, said, "Jobs & Adverts is committed to each country by creating local Web sites with relevant content to each country and dedicated human resources by setting up offices in each of these countries. Our goal is to be an international company with country-specific Web sites and offices to address the unique characteristics of each country. Each country forms part of a career-network which benefits from the synergies in the common technology platform and know-how transfer between the subsidiaries."

Jobs & Adverts currently operates a European career-network and through this network, according to Lim, Jobs & Adverts has brought a number of product innovations to the market well ahead of the competition such as online Competence Assessment, WAP technology for querying job ads by mobile phone, pre-selection service, and salary surveys, in Europe.

Jobs & Adverts has implemented some of these innovations in Asia and will continue to roll out more product innovations which will help the employer and job seeker in the recruitment process, Lim said.
