Even though they're not even available yet, LaCie is already boasting about the record transfer speeds produced by two of its upcoming 3TB hard drives: the LaCie d2 USB 3.0 and LaCie 2big USB 3.0.

We already know these storage solutions are going to be fast given that "USB 3.0" is included in the product names.

So just how fast are these bad boys? Starting with the LaCie's 2big USB 3.0, this one reaches 306MB/s, which is a 20% speed boost than its predecessor and "the fastest performance of any 2-bay RAID solution to-date." Then there is the d2 USB 3.0, which is a bit slower but not at all shabby with a transfer speed of 156MB/s.

The LaCie 2big USB 3.0 6TB and d2 USB 3.0 3TB will roll out to the worldwide marketplace in early November. Unfortunately, pricing remains a mystery. With speedy technology like this, expect to pay a bit more than you might want.
