Lexmark lowers laser price point

Printer specialist Lexmark has cut prices on its Optra C colour laser printer range, including reductions of up to 46 per cent off of printer memory.

The Optra C Pro, a 3ppm, 32Mb, Ethernet-ready laser has been cut by 11 per cent to a new list price of £6,600 + VAT. The Optra N Pro, a 24ppm mono laser with 16Mb of memory has been cut by 4 per cent to £3,250 + VAT.

Some of Lexmark's larger reductions are on Ram, where 46 per cent reductions on 32Mb (now £510 + VAT) and 16Mb (now £260 + VAT), top the bill. The lowest reduction has been in 2Mb which now costs £50 + VAT.

Separately, Lexmark rival Oki has entered the retail point of sale (POS) market with the launch of the OkiPOS 90 Series nine-pin printer. Pricing is to be confirmed.
