LG pulled out all the stops yesterday evening for its 2009 Main Line Show in New York City, and among the products on display were the company's two new models of ultrathin LCD HDTVs.

The SL80 and SL90 models take another step toward what the company calls "borderless" design, which manifests itself as edge-to-edge glass with a narrow bezel and tucked away speakers.

The flagship SL90 model (top and right), which will come in 42- and 47-inch sizes, is due later this year. Specs for the 1.15-in. deep HDTV include: LED backlighting, 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio and 120Hz TruMotion processing.

The SL80 line (above) preserves the 240Hz processing but uses CCFL backlighting (300,000:1 contrast ratio) and a 1.8-in. thick profile to bring the price down a bit. It will be available in 42-, 47-, and 55-inch models this August for $1,599, $1,899 and $2,799 respectively.
