Last year, Microsoft brought Outlook to the Apple Watch. With the excellent iOS companion client it was a combination that easily beat Apple's own mail program.

Android Wear users had been able to get notifications from Outlook on their watches, but the experience was inconsistent and eventually stopped working.

AndroidCentral reports that Microsoft's latest Outlook for Android update provides official Android Wear support so you will be able to receive notifications, read your email, reply with pre-set messages, or reply with voice dictation.

The Outlook for Android update is launching on the Google Play Store soon.

It hasn't appeared for me yet, but such support for Outlook may have me mounting another Android Wear device on my wrist as Outlook is my favorite email and calendar app on Android and iOS.

As I wrote in Jnuary, Outlook for iOS and Android is one of the best email, calendar, and contact management apps for Android and iOS.

And support for Android Wear just makes it even better.
