Microsoft releases Windows 10 Creators Update test build 14965
Microsoft is releasing a new Fast Ring build of Windows 10 Creators Update (a k a "Redstone 2") to testers on Novemer 9.
That build, number 14965, is going to both PC and Mobile testers. As with most of the test builds of the Creators Update so far, there are relatively few new features in today's test build.
For PC testers, Microsoft did add to this build the ability to more easily control external monitors from tablets by not requiring users to attach a mouse. There are some Sticky Note updates, including support for "Insights" in more languages. Microsoft also improved Windows Ink Workspace in this build with various tweaks.
Microsoft also made a number of additional, smaller fixes to both PC and Mobile test builds with 14965. And as usual, there are known issues for both PC and Mobile, itemized in the November 9 blog post about the new build.
Microsoft officially christened Redstone 2 as the Creators Update on October 26.
Officials said to expect the Creators Update release, due in the Spring of 2017 (March, 2017, is the ship target, my sources have said) are a number of new 3D-enabling capabilities and Windows Holographic shell integration. The Creators Update also will include new enterprise security capabilities in the form of "Project Barcelona," which uses Windows 10 containers to isolate and remove threats, as well as improvements to how users can access their most frequent contacts through Windows MyPeople.
In other Windows 10 news, Microsoft rolled out new cumulative updates to all the various flavors of Windows 10 as part of this week's Patch Tuesday.
