Mitsumi 12x CD-ROM drives all set

Mitsumi is likely to become the first volume supplier of 12-speed CD-ROM drives when it releases its FX120 Series later this month.

The internal IDE drives will support up to 1,800Kbps transfer rates and ship with a 256Kb memory buffer. Street pricing will be between £110 and £120 + VAT.

Nick Shenton, UK sales manager at Mitsumi, said he expected 12x drive sales to take off in the Christmas period.
