Neonode is gearing up to release their new zForce Pad color touchscreen panel, ranging from 5- to 13-inches in width, set to be paired with computer and mobile internet devices.

Targeted towards companies developing gadgets to go with touchscreen tablets (like that Apple one coming out soon), Neonode's zForce Pad features multi-touch support and an ambient light sensor. It's also going to be "low-cost" and "ultrathin," although the press release doesn't specify any numbers to back either claim. Guess we'll have to wait and find out on those two figures.

What is interesting about this widescreen tablet display is that Neonode is pushing what the zForce Pad does NOT have: a touch-sensitive overlay, which should make the display cheaper.

And just as they don't specify how much cheaper it will be, Neonode hasn't announced a release date yet either.
