In this podcast I sit down with my good friend Elliot Harrison, who recently got a "promotion" to Neowin.net, of which I spend a good five minutes disagreeing with him about it. Also, I discuss how manly and butch my editor-in-chief is, talk about the kitting out of my house of technology and how useless you lot have been at picking out technology for me.

Not only that, we admire this fantastic 32" LCD television without realising the horrific news which was being broadcast (let's face it, it wasn't the first thing on our mind). We even make a subtle dig at Michael Jackson, which was fun, but make up for it by saying nice things about the French.

Skip to five minutes in for the main points, if you would rather not listen to two idiotic students being mesmerised by a high definition broadcast. Towards the end, I dedicate the podcast to CitizenW who gave me the best advice I have had from that post.

The main points:

  • Be prepared to spend quite a lot of money kitting out your new place; from the very big to the small, irrelevant things. I've spent around $4,500 and it's almost crippled me.
  • Don't always buy the cheapest things because they simply won't be as good. Use the things you buy as an investment for the future.
  • Students, ordinary non-working students, can only dream because I'm one of the very few lucky ones who can afford it.

Consider this a treat for you guys though; news is thin at the moment and you deserve a 20 minute break of laughs, banter and tech-talk.
