Spring Design's foray into the e-book reader market, the dual-screen Alex, was supposed to have been released on February 22. But it wasn't. What gives?
This is all Spring Design has to say on their site:
Thanks for your patience. We're almost ready with our Alex store. Keep checking in and by the first week of March you'll be able to order your Alex online. --The Spring Design Team
They're holding back the release of the product because they're still working on their online store? The Alex already comes packed with a lot of channels to read and access content such as via Wi-Fi, 3G and a microSD card slot.
It's not even that cheap to begin with, expected to sell at $399. Once the iPad comes out, even though Apple's gadget more expensive, Alex isn't going to be much of a threat.
