Rimini Street, which provides third party support for SAP and Oracle applications, has named its first general counsel just in time for a looming court showdown with Oracle.
The company named Daniel Winslow general counsel. Winslow was a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, chief counsel to former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and has 30 years logged as a trial lawyer.
Winslow's corporate law experience includes patent, trademark and copyright litigation, regulatory compliance, telecom and Internet and entertainment law.
Specifically, Winslow will oversee Rimini's global legal team and support the company business units. When he was chief counsel for Romney he managed more than 800 in-house and outside counsel.
No trial date has been set for Oracle's lawsuit vs. Rimini Street. Rimini Street has repeatedly said that it is confident it will win. Third party support isn't being challenged in the lawsuit and Rimini Street has been signing up clients at a rapid clip.
