Sling Media is moving beyond the boxes and getting into the remote control arena, starting with the announcement of their new Sling Touch Control 100.

If you couldn't guess from the name, there is quite lovely and crisp 4.3-inch touch-screen LCD display on there, with a 272 x 480 resolution. The Touch Control 100 is powered by a lithium-ion battery and charges up in the cradle shown in the photo above.  It's all packed in a soft-touch casing.

The remote can control devices both over Wi-Fi to SlingGuide-enabled devices as well as via infrared (IR) to non-IP devices.

Don't get too excited yet though, since its not clear yet how you'll actually get your hands on one of these. Not only are there no price or release dates available yet, but it looks like there is a chance that it will be licensed and tied in to deals by cable providers. And those guys really love to charge a lot.
