Storage specialist NetApps unveiled its latest product family called NearStore designed for data recovery and backup. NearStore is a group of products which allow rapid recovery and backup. All NearStore utilises the NetApp's data OnTap operating system and uses SnapMirror and DataFabric as storage management tools. The company claims that NearStore is ideal for companies who need instant data recovery and to reduce complex storage administration tasks to the minimum. The company also unveiled new filer devices, designed especially for small to medium businesses. The F87 and F810 are designed as network centric storage devices.
