Taptu rolls out very useful mobile Touch Web Directory

If you have a touchscreen phone, don't we all now, you know that the Internet is not always optimized for the experience. Taptu released a handy Touch Directory that presents you with sites that are small screen size and touchscreen friendly.

Most all new smartphones today are centered around a touch screen interface, yet much of the Internet is still not focused on touch as an interface mechanism. The folks at Taptu have products for Android and the iPhone that are focused on touch. Today they introduced a directory of the "touch friendly web" to help touchscreen device owners find and access content that is optimized for their touchscreen.

They have two ways for you to discover the mobile touch web, browse by category and featured touch sites. Categories include Shopping, Sports, Social, News & Weather, Entertainment, and more for a total of 19 categories and 135 subcategories. To access their new Touch Directory simply visit Taptu.com on your mobile web browser.

At first I thought this might just be some gimmick or unnecessary offering, but I have to tell you it is a fantastic way to discover more sites on the Internet and performs wonderfully on my Google Nexus One browser. I like when you do a search and the results appear in blocks of information such as video, images, associated Twitter accounts, latest buzz, blogs, web, and more. I plan to use this quite a bit moving forward and highly recommend you give it a try.
