Yamaha unveils sleek and simple PDX-31 iPhone/iPod speaker dock
Yamaha has joined in on the iPhone/iPod speaker dock fun with the rectangular PDX-31, which sports a uniquely-described "box-within-a-box” construction.
That design unfolds as a reinforced, dual wall set-up with a pair of 3 1/4-inch speakers. The purpose? a more dynamic bass response and clearer audio.
Naturally, there is a 30-pin dock connector for iPhones and iPods (don't expect charging ability for more recent models). But if you want to hook up a portable media player from another maker, there is an auxiliary input spot. Conveniently, there is also an Auto Power Off function to conserve energy and save you some money on your electricity bill.
Available in three hues (dark red, black and light gray) the PDX-31 speaker dock is retailing for $169.95.
