The HP TouchPad is the first webOS tablet to hit the market. See our first impressions at ZDNet Mobile News.
Designed in California by HP. :)
For a tablet that claims Beat Audio as a selling point, it would have been nice to find headphones in the box. Instead it is bring your own.
The 9.7-inch IPS display is bright and vivid.
The number row on the top of the onscreen keyboard is a great benefit for text entry.
The TouchPad web browser is a full desktop equivalent and is a joy to use.
The browser works well and is comfortable to use in the hand in portrait orientation.
The TouchPad is thicker than the iPad 2 and thus the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, currently the thinnest tablet on the market.
The TouchPad has one center button on the front of the device, which is used to activate certain functions. The button flashes gently (white) when a notifcation arrives and the screen is off.
