Google has branched into new territory by opening its first shop outside of its Calfornian campus.

The search giant has opened the Chrome Zone, pictured above, which can be found within the Currys and PC World superstore on London's Tottenham Court Road.

The zone is designed to allow shoppers to get hands-on with the Samsung Chromebook Series 5. The Samsung Chromebook was announced in May this year and is based on Google's Chrome OS, which uses web apps accessed through its built-in browser.

Google says if the Chrome Zone at the Tottenham Court Road store is popular with shoppers it will consider rolling out other zones elsewhere.

A second Chrome Zone has already been confirmed, and will open at the PC World megastore in Lakeside Retail Park in Essex next month.
