
Latitude packs big punch in lightweight class
This is the new Latitude family of ultra-portable laptops from Dell.
The company has collaborated with almost 4,000 IT professionals and end users to develop the range which it says is the lightest in its history.
The laptops are available now in the US but Dell has not yet announced a UK release date.

This is the Latitude E4200 which has a 12.1-inch screen and, at weighing in at just 2.2 pounds, is the lightest the company has ever produced.
Dell also claims "breakthrough" battery life of up to 19 hours for the Latitude range.

The Latitude range is available in five colours: Mica-Brushed Metal, Regatta Blue, Regal Red, Quartz Pink and Matte Black.

This is the Latitude E5500, which has a 15.4-inch screen.
Dell has announced its Latitude ON technology will soon appear on the E4200 and E4300.
The tech allows users to access email, calendar, contacts and the internet almost instantly by not starting the system's main operating system.

The Latitude E6400 ATG is a semi-rugged laptop with a 14.1-inch screen. Dell says it's built to military standards to withstand dust, humidity and vibration.

Dell has also added some models to its high performance Precision workstation range.
This is the Precision M2400 which has a 14.1-inch screen, weighs just under five pounds and retails at around $1,500.
