​Samsung launches cord-free Gear IconX earbuds in South Korea

The wireless earbuds designed for fitness sync with Samsung's S Health and will be available nationwide in South Korea on July 16 at 220,000 won ($192), while the US will get them in August.

Sales of the much-anticipated Gear IconX wireless earbuds unveiled in New York last month will begin in South Korea this week.

Priced at 220,000 won ($192) and coming in black, blue, and white, the earbuds will go on sale July 15 at samsungWA.com, the firm's new online shop for wearable devices and mobile accessories.

It will be available nationwide the next day at Samsung Digital Plazas, the physical stores owned by the firm.

The blue version will come later next month, the company said.

Sales in the US will begin sometime in August, a Samsung spokesman said, though pricing and a date has not been set yet.

The Bluetooth earbuds provide music and voice feedback on workout progress, GPS tracking, and data storage via the S Health app smartphones. It has embedded memory of 3.5GB to store music.
