3G Watchdog

1. 3G Watchdog
Simple, unobtrusive and detailed, 3G Watchdog keeps an eye on your data usage and presents it in daily, weekly and monthly round-ups. With alerts when you're approaching your limit and a status icon that changes colour as you consume, it's a good way to avoid throttling and over-usage charges — at least until the networks relearn what 'unlimited' actually means. Free for Android, with a charged-for version that adds analysis and export options.

ConnectBot
5. ConnectBot
Security-conscious network types don't need telling about SSL, but they do need a well-designed tool to make those connections and get out of the way. ConnectBot is ideal for remotely managing servers and services, with a good cut and paste between multiple sessions, sensible automation and shortcuts.
