<p>Research In Motion (RIM) used to design its BlackBerry smartphones purely for the business market. Then the company found that some businesspeople like stylish devices, many like ‘crossover’ phones that deliver some consumer functionality, and plenty of consumers want phones with BlackBerry-style mobile email. RIM has therefore cast its net wider, delivering more mainstream devices such as the <a href="http://reviews.zdnet.co.uk/hardware/mobilephones/0,1000000685,39286965,00.htm">Curve 8300</a> and the <a href="http://reviews.zdnet.co.uk/hardware/mobilephones/0,1000000685,39283153,00.htm">Pearl 8100</a>.
