The Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus, see our full review, is one of the best smartphones available today and is reasonably priced for a flagship with everything packed inside. To protect your investment, BodyGuardz has three case options we have been using for a couple weeks.
The most expensive of the three and the one that can be slapped on your arm and taken out for a run is the BodyGuardz Trainr Pro. It is available for $49.95 in gray/mint and black, both of which we tested over the past couple of weeks.
The Trainr Pro has a transparent polycarbonate back so you can see the color of your selected S9 Plus. The edges have substantial shock absorbing TPU with integrated Unequal technology that helps the case pass the MIL-STD drop test up to 10 feet.
The raised buttons for volume, Bixby, and power are easy to find and activate.
The opening on the back helps you target the fingerprint scanner and health sensors on the S9 Plus.
There are openings along the bottom for the headset jack, USB-C port, and bottom speaker.
The unique aspect of this case is the grooves integrated into the bottom half of both sides. With the included armband you can simply snap your S9 Plus into place and go for a run.
The armband fits my upper arm comfortably, with room for more curls. It is easily adjustable and stays in place while I run. There is a slot for a key in the band as well
Slots are present on each side of the Trainr Pro case. When not being used with the armband, the slots do not detract at all from the case experience.
Since I like to take photos during my run, having the ability to quickly remove the phone to take a photo and then snap it back in place is a nice feature.
The Ace Fly case is a clear case so you can really show off the Coral Blue or Lilac Purple of your S9 Plus. It has the same level of drop protection as the Trainr Pro with a rigid back and soft sides.
The back has cool design elements with the edges being rounded to match the S9 Plus design. It is a low-profile case that doesn't add much bulk to the overall package.
Wireless charging and Samsung Pay work just fine with the case and I have not seen any signal degradation.
