Keep up-to-date on financial news and market moves via the FT's iPhone app. There's also markets data, currencies, commodities, bonds and company profiles, plus a handy currency converter.
There's a limit of three free news articles per month for non-registered users, while registered users get 10 free articles per month, and can also view their FT.com portfolio on their iPhone. Subscribers get unlimited access to news and everything else the app offers.

iPhone app: XE
For a one-tap currency converter, try XE's free iPhone app. Tap on a currency to change the amount and convert it to the other currencies displayed on the screen above. Additional currencies can be easily added to the list - or deleted - via the settings page.

iPhone app: Calc VAT - UK VAT Calulator
The Calc VAT iPhone app does what it says on the tin: provides an easy calculation of UK VAT rates.
The app supports past and present rates alongisde the future 20 per cent UK VAT rate.
In addition, it enables custom rates to be inputted, and VAT rates for any European country to be calculated.
